Marketing News You Can Use!Dominate the Conference Floor with Our Proven StrategiesWhen working a tradeshow floor at a conference, it's important to have a well-planned strategy to maximize your presence and make the most of the opportunity. Remember the reason you are attending the conference. You want to connect with people and businesses that need and or want your services. You need to be fully engaged in the mission. Everyone else there is looking to do business and their focus is on getting leads. Yours is also, but you need to have a strategic mindset about our activities to achieve the same goal. Remember what we JUST said, everyone is there to get new business. This means they want to talk about their business and their products and services or offers. They are prepared to tell you all the amazing features and some benefits of the revolutionary offer. I challenge you to do something different here. Actually listen to what they are telling you. Absorb their pitch. Listen for the details. Listen for understanding. See if you can repeat back to them what they have just told you. Now watch the reaction from them when they realize you were an engaged listener. Next Let's start mentally start turning the conversation from abstract implementation, to you asking them how their offer worked in a real world situation. Now you can begin to see if there are collaborative opportunities for the two of you with your client base. Be sincere with this. One of your jobs is to seek ways to continually help your clients. And if you can offer suggestions to your clients that will save them time and or money while helping them achieve their goals, then you have done a masterful job at managing the conference floor! β
Now you need to make sure you get something tangible out of this as well. You need to walk away with one or more of the following: an in person or virtual appointment scheduled, their personal contact information, permission to add them to your corporate mailing list, or they have signed up for a freebie, value add you are offering. I recently attended a national conference here in Huntsville, AL, the National Cyber Summit and I implemented this strategy. Iβm still working the results from this conference at the time I wrote this article. My results so far have been exactly what I expected! Itβs still a lot of hard work involved, but when you are more focused on giving, (or active listening in this case), you will most definitely reap the gains!! β |
